After nearly eight years of service, The British Club bids farewell to Andrew Christon, who joined as General Manager in September 2017. As many members will recall, Andrew arrived at a time of significant change and opportunity for the Club, and his leadership has played a key role in shaping the Club’s direction during this period.
During his tenure, Andrew oversaw several key projects that contributed to the continued development of our Club facilities. Notable among these were the revitalisation of the Mountbatten Bar & Grill, Windsor Terrace, The Hideaway, the Treetops Suite, and the Training Studio. More recently, the renovation of SCORES added a fresh dimension to the Club’s social and sporting spaces. These improvements have enhanced the experience of members and contributed to the overall upkeep and evolution of the Club’s environment.
Andrew also introduced several operational changes, most notably leading the implementation of the JONAS Clubhouse system. This digital upgrade modernised our booking processes, membership database, and billing systems—streamlining many day-to-day interactions and laying a foundation for future operational improvements.
Andrew was also instrumental in guiding the Club through the pandemic years and restarting operations as we emerged from COVID-19 restrictions. While the Club has navigated both successes and challenges over the past years, Andrew's contributions during his time here are sincerely appreciated. We recognise the commitment involved in managing such a dynamic and diverse institution, and we thank him for his service.
On behalf of the Main Committee, the Management Team, and all our members, we extend our heartfelt thanks to Andrew and wish him well in whatever comes next.
